Frequently asked questions

Can several people share the same account?

Section titled “Can several people share the same account?”

No. Each person needs their own account, with their own email address. meo ties every action to the person who did it: the Activity log, in Settings, shows the User behind each action. With a shared account, you can no longer tell who did what.

To work as a team, invite each colleague from Settings > Users, with the Invite a user button. You can give them access to the whole organisation or to a single space. See Invite a user to the organisation or to a space.

Can you sign in to meo with your Google account?

Section titled “Can you sign in to meo with your Google account?”

Yes. On the sign-in page, click the Google button (Continue with Google). The Microsoft button works the same way. meo marks the method you used last time with a Last used label.

If you created your account with Google and also want a password, click Forgot password?: you receive a 6-digit code by email, then choose your password. You can then sign in with Google or with your password.

What should you do if your company network blocks access to meo?

Section titled “What should you do if your company network blocks access to meo?”

Ask your IT team to allow these public meo addresses:

  • app.documeo.ca: the meo application;
  • api.documeo.ca: your documents and your data;
  • client.documeo.ca: your clients’ portal;
  • collab.documeo.ca: folders shared with your external collaborators;
  • documeo.ca and www.documeo.ca: the meo website and this Help Centre.

meo’s emails are sent from the notifications.documeo.ca domain: add it to the allowed senders of your email system. Allowing the whole documeo.ca domain covers all these addresses.

If the block persists, write to support@documeo.ca and include the message your network displays.

Yes. Book a free 30-minute call with our team to set up your account for the way you work: choose a time slot.

In meo, the Getting started guide, at the bottom of the left menu, lists the setup steps for your space. For a specific question, use the chat bubble at the bottom right of the screen.

How do you move or cancel your demo or your setup call?

Section titled “How do you move or cancel your demo or your setup call?”

With the link in the confirmation email you received when booking: it lets you change the date or cancel the call. If you cannot find that email, write to our support team at support@documeo.ca with the date of your call.

This Help Centre is meo’s user guide. Each section follows a step in your work, with its step-by-step guides and its frequently asked questions. Start with Create your meo account and Understand the left menu.

In the application, the Getting started guide walks you through your first steps, and the chat bubble at the bottom right of the screen puts you in touch with our team.

How do you switch to the light or dark theme?

Section titled “How do you switch to the light or dark theme?”

Click your space’s name at the top of the left menu. In the Account section, choose one of the four icons: the screen (system theme), the sun (light theme), the moon (dark theme) or the eclipse (dark blue theme).

By default, meo follows your computer’s theme.

Sign in at app.documeo.ca. Bookmark it to come back quickly.

Your clients do not use this address: they open their portal from the link they receive with your request.

Can you change the settings made at sign-up later?

Section titled “Can you change the settings made at sign-up later?”

Yes. Sign-up only creates the starting setup. Everything can be changed afterwards in Settings:

  • the organisation name: Organization section, General;
  • the space’s logo, public name and contact information: Space section, General, Branding tab;
  • what meo does when documents expire: same page, Retention tab;
  • request templates: Catalogue, Request templates tab.

Your starting choice (document collection, privacy or both) removes nothing: every tool stays available.

About fifteen minutes, with nothing to install. meo is not heavy software to learn: sign-up fits in five short screens, which ask for a code sent by email, your field of work, your logo and your name.

To send a first request, all you need is your branding. Request templates suited to your field are already in your account. Use them as they are, or build your own live while preparing a request: once it is sent, Save as a request template keeps it for next time. See Create your meo account.

For your existing contacts, the Import button on the Contacts page accepts a CSV or Excel file of up to 5,000 contacts per import.

Click the chat bubble at the bottom right of the screen. It is available in the application and on the sign-in and sign-up pages. You can also write to support@documeo.ca. We answer in French and in English, within one business day.

Where do you find the setup checklist shown on the home page?

Section titled “Where do you find the setup checklist shown on the home page?”

The checklist is called Getting started. Open it at the bottom of the left menu, or on Home with the View my checklist button.

Each space has its own checklist, shown to people who can edit the space. It disappears once every step is handled: done, postponed with Later or marked Doesn’t apply. It also disappears if you choose Dismiss the guide in the card’s three-dot menu. Your progress is kept.

How do you change meo’s language, your name or your photo?

Section titled “How do you change meo’s language, your name or your photo?”

In Settings > Profile. You also get there from the space selector, at the top of the menu: click your name, in the Account section.

  • Interface language: choose Français or English. The change applies right away, for you only.
  • Display name and Profile photo (JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP, 5 MB at most): change them, then click Save changes. Your colleagues see this name.

The language of your clients’ emails and portal does not depend on this setting: it follows the Communication language of the space or the contact. See Choose who is notified and in which language.
