Frequently asked questions
Can you create tasks with a due date?
Section titled “Can you create tasks with a due date?”Yes. Click Tasks in the left menu, then New task, or use the Tasks tab of a contact’s page. Enter the Title and, if needed, the Due date (optional), the Time (optional), the Assignee and the Contact (optional). Click Create task.
The list groups tasks by due date, from Overdue to No date, and the Calendar view places them in time. Each morning they have tasks overdue or due within seven days, the assignee receives a “Your tasks for today” email. They can turn it off in Settings > Notifications, under Daily tasks digest. See Manage your tasks.
What is the difference between a note and a task?
Section titled “What is the difference between a note and a task?”A note keeps the context: a call, a preference, a decision. You write it in the Notes section of a contact’s Overview tab, and your team reads it in the same place.
A task is something to do, with an Assignee and, if needed, a due date and time. You complete it once done. It shows on the Tasks page and, if it is linked to a contact, on their page. For sensitive information, such as a password, use the Info tab instead: meo encrypts it.
Can you chain a series of tasks automatically for each new file?
Section titled “Can you chain a series of tasks automatically for each new file?”Yes, with an action plan: a series of tasks you prepare once, then apply to each new contact. Create it in Settings > Catalogue, under Action plans. Each step has its title, its day in the plan and its assignee, for example the Contact owner. A substep starts once its parent step is completed or skipped.
To apply it, open the Tasks page or the contact’s Tasks tab, choose the By action plan view, then click Apply a plan. meo does not apply a plan on its own when a contact is created. See Create and apply an action plan.
Do your clients see your tasks or notes?
Section titled “Do your clients see your tasks or notes?”No. Tasks and their comments, the notes on the Overview tab and the information your team enters on the Info tab stay within your team. Your client only sees, in their portal, what their request asks of them and what you deliver to them. A person you share a folder with only sees that folder.
